Bio
Paul has been very active in his adopted community of Flint, Michigan. Paul graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1966 with a bachelor’s in History and Economics. He went on to earn his master’s degree from Indiana University Bloomington in 1967 in Political Science. Paul has always been interested in photography and worked as a reporter/photographer at DeKalb Daily Chronicle 1960-1965. Moving on to become a Political Science Professor at Ball State University 1967-1969. Finally making his home at Mott Community College as a Political Science Professor 1969-2011. During his time at MCC, Paul also taught introductory and advanced photography at MCC, UM-Flint, and the Flint Institute of Art. He was the faculty advisor of The Post -the MCC student newspaper 1987-1992. Paul also worked with colleague Instructor Lillie McCain to develop video and text for a Principles of Leadership course for Distance Learning and they earned the Distance Learning Outstanding Achievement Award in 1998. Paul has written several books and many articles, including Politics and Government in Michigan (with Jim Hanley) and A Clearer Image: The History of Mott Community College. He has been a regular on local television and radio stations as a political commentator, and moderating political candidate debates and discussions for the League of Women Voters. Paul still exhibits his photography in the community.
