Bears fall in Region XII Opening Round
WARREN, Mich. - The Mott Community College baseball team's season came to a close in the opening round of the Region XII tournament at Macomb Community College on Thursday.
The Bears battled in game one, tying the score in the top of the ninth on a Ryan Metz home run. The Monarchs walked off with a single run in the bottom of the inning for a 6-5 win. Luke Dupuis homered in the eighth to put the Bears up 6-2 in game two, but Macomb scored six in the ninth to escape with an 8-6 win to eliminate Mott.
The results end the 2026 season for the Bears with a record of 17-22.
Game One Highlights:

Luke Trotter went 3-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base.

Trenton Kriewaldt added two hits, a double, one run, and one RBI.

Metz homered, finishing with two runs scored.

Ben Proulx (2-3) took the loss in relief, going four innings, allowing one run on one hit, walking two and striking out three.
