Johnston qualifies for Nationals with 5th-place finish

JOPLIN, Mo. - Kamryn Johnston qualified for the NJCAA Division 1 Women's Golf Championships  for the Mott Community College women's golf team with a fifth-place finish after the final round of the Central District Tournament on Tuesday at the Twin Hills Country Club in Joplin, Mo. 

Johnston became the first Bear in program history to qualify for the National Championships after firing a final round 88 for a two-round score of 178.  

Mallory Bairbos finished the event for Mott with a two-round score of 229.

The NJCAA Division 1 Women's Golf Championships are set for May 19-24 at the Duran Golf Club in Melbourne, FL.
