No. 20 Bears open season this weekend in Rockford
FLINT - The Mott Community College volleyball team opens the 2025 season at the Opening Weekend Tournament this weekend in Rockford, IL.
The Bears return for the second season under head coach Eric Lazowski following a Great Lakes District title and a berth in the NJCAA National Tournament. Mott enters 2025 as the No. 20 team in Division II and will open against No. 7 Kirkwood Community College at 11 AM CT on Friday in Rockford.
Skylar Cramer returns as one of two veterans for the Bears. Cramer earned MCCAA Eastern Conference First Team and Freshman Team honors. She led the team in 2024 with 10.8 assists per set.
Chloe Wright also returns for Mott after appearing in 36 matches as a freshman in 2024.
The 2025 roster includes 11 newcomers for the Bears, who will look to repeat as MCCAA Eastern Conference champions.
"I'm excited for year two," Lazowski said. "We have two returners and 11 newcomers to the program so we will learn who and what we have this weekend in Chicago. We have had amazing learning experiences this preseason and I can't wait to see this team grow together."
