Bears take home opener in four

FLINT - The Mott Community College volleyball team opened the home portion of the 2025 schedule with a four-set win over Edison State Community College on Wednesday at the Ballenger Fieldhouse. 

After dropping the first set, the Bears took control, winning in four sets (18-25, 25-11, 25-22, 25-17). The win is the fifth in six matches as Mott (7-7) now moves into the MCCAA Conference schedule this week. 

Mott Highlights: 

• Reigning MCCAA Eastern Conference Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week Maggie Elliott led the way with 28 kills on 72 attempts, while adding 10 digs and four service aces. 

• Destany Clymer added nine kills.

• Averee Berard had 17 digs and four total blocks, while Chloe Wright added a team-high 21 digs. 

• Peyton Spicer recorded a team-high six total blocks, while Emily Morris added four. 

• Laura Mabrey finished with 10 digs and a pair of service aces.
